Employers Needed for Win-Win Situation
Most Secondary Career and Technical programs offer an On-the-Job Training (OJT) work component. Employers who hire a student in the OJT program become part of a "win-win" situation.
Employers benefit by receiving the support of a teacher/coordinator who works with the student in the classroom to become a better employee. Students are motivated to perform well on the job because they are being evaluated on a regular basis and are receiving a grade for their work performance. It also enables them to earn a wage and high school credit at the same time.
If you are interested in providing a student with an OJT opportunity, please call Alice Duwe (Business, Marketing, Computers), Kathy Tevebaugh (FACS), or Neill Wheeler (Construction) at 973-3681. If OJT isn't a good fit for your business, other experienced-based opportunities that employers can provide include internships and job shadowing.
