Welcome Parents!

• Assistance will be available to parents so they better understand the role they have with the school personnel regarding their child(ren).
• Assistance will be available to the parents so that they can better understand the ESOL/Newcomer and the Migrant Education Programs.
• Assistance with student transcripts will be available to parents so they better understand their child's school progress. Parents will be referred to their school when clarification is needed.
• Curriculum standards and assessments information are communicated and shared with parents.
• Migrant Education Program information is communicated and shared with qualifying families.
• Translation services are provided as needed.

Transportation

• If a new ESOL student lives more than 2.50 miles away from school the student will qualify for a bus.
• The school office will inform parents of any hazardous bus routes in their area.
• The transportation policy that governs regular education students also apply to ESOL students.

Other Details

• Children will get a school assignment according to their neighborhood or school feeder pattern.
• Bilingual support may be available for enrollment at various schools or the Multilingual Education Services Center.
• Standardized dress information will be available.
• School supplies will be addressed at the school.
• Schools will inform families of textbook rental and other school fees.
