Welcome to the Multilingual Education Services!

The Multilingual Education Services (MES) staff is prepared to serve and assist with Wichita Public Schools' English Language Learners and their families. The MES Center is the home of the follow Wichita Public Schools services:

• ESOL/Newcomer Intake Center
• ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Services             
• Migrant Education Program
• District Translation Team

The ESOL Newcomer Intake Center is the central point of contact in the Wichita Public Schools for ESOL students who are new to the district. Students can be tested on their English language skills and then assigned to schools with ESOL programs that fit their language ability.

The MES Center also offers Parent Assistance so they can understand the ESOL/Newcomer programs, and to provide information about the Wichita Public Schools. Also available to families is information that connects them to community services.
