Magnet Schools

The 2009-2010 magnet application forms are available, upon request, in all school offices, the Magnet Admissions Office located at 201 N. Water and the district web site. Click here for online application forms.

ELEMENTARY and MIDDLE magnet school deadline:  Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at 4:45 p.m.
Students who apply by the March 10th deadline will be included in the random selection process in April for the available seats for the 2009-2010 school year. Notification letters will be mailed to all parents by the end of April 2009 announcing the results of the random selections.

NORTHEAST Magnet High School deadline:  Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at 4:45 p.m.
Students who apply by the February 25th deadline will be included in the random selection process conducted in March for the available seats for the 2009-2010 school year. Notification letters will be mailed to all parents by Spring Break in March announcing the results of the random selections.

Magnet applications (KG - 12) will continue to be accepted after the deadline but will be processed and placed on a late waiting list, date order received.  Parents will be contacted by the Magnet Admissions Office if a position becomes available at any of their magnet school choices.

If a student is not selected for any of their magnet school choices by December 1, 2009 a new application must be submitted for the 2010-2011 school year.  The waiting list does not carry over to the next school year.

Visitation week for the magnet schools (Kdg - 8) are scheduled during the week of February 23 - 26, 2009.  Northeast Magnet High School has two informational evenings in January.  The dates and times for visits can be accessed through this link:  Magnet Schools Visitation Schedule

Contact the Magnet Admissions Office or any school office to obtain an application for the current 2008-2009 school year.
