U.S. Communities is a nonprofit agency that assists public agencies reduce the cost of purchased goods through pooling the purchasing power of public agencies nationwide. This is done through competitively soliciting bids and proposals for quality products through a lead public agency. USD 259 actively participates in these cooperative purchasing endeavors.
The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO), the Nation Association of Counties (NACO), the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), the National League of Cities (NLC), and the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM), jointly sponsor U.S. Communities.
Darren Muci, Division Director, Operations, is the USD 259 respesentative and member of the U.S. Communities Governmental Purchasing Alliance Advisory Board which provides leadership andoverall direction for U.S. Communities.
From time-to-time, the Purchasing Department will, on behalf of the U.S. Communities Governmental Purchasing Alliance, and other entities, post bid or proposal solicitations on our website. These solicitations are not being issued by USD 259 but on behalf of those other entities. All inquires must be directed to the issuing entity.
