The Energy Management and Utilities program support the district's Strategic Plan, specifically Strategy 8, "We will upgrade and maintain district facilities to support and enhance student achievement." The function of this program is to provide adequate accountability for energy consumption and costs in a way that a quality-learning environment is maintained with the least expenditure of district dollars and resources.
The District received the "Award for Energy Excellence" from Energy Education, Inc. This award is for outstanding Energy program in the Midwest region.
District utility usage June 2005 to May 2006:
Electricity: Total KWH: 78,509,972 At a cost of: $5,611,801.00
Natural Gas: Total MCF: 260,613 At a cost of: $2,799,598.38
Water & Stom water: Total gallons: 108,599,000 At a cost of: 421,988.94
