The Design and Construction Department implements capital facility improvement projects throughout the District in support of Strategy 8: Upgrade and maintain district facilities. These facilities improvements include minor and major capital outlay budgeted projects, minor improvement projects, ADA projects, health and safety projects, and projects to follow up the bond issue which are funded by District Capital Outlay monies.
In addition to planning and coordinating the many Capital construction projects throughout the District, the Department also provides support to the schools and the District by providing archive information, drawings, code reviews, and other Facilities related solutions, information and support.

Mike provides estimates, planning and coordination of painting projects and other miscellaneous projects in the District in addition to processing Kansas One Call Dig permits.
Chris provides estimates for concrete, masonry and exterior restoration projects and chalkboard/tack board projects in addition to coordinating various construction contracts for Capital projects.
Jerry provides architectural services and supervision on construction projects for the District. He also maintains the architectural license for the district.
Jodie processes purchase requisitions for Capital Outlay projects and provides other bookkeeping and financial record-keeping functions for the department in addition to monitoring and tracking of funds for capital projects.
Jay provides estimates, planning and coordination of site related projects including playgrounds, parking lots and landscaping projects.
Justin provides estimates, planning and coordination of LAN/WAN projects including smart boards and other technology projects.
Kathy Richstatter prepares AutoCAD drawings for school facilities in addition to planning and coordinating contract construction projects.
Kenny provides estimates planning and coordination of special projects including ADA and safety projects in addition to maintaining the general contractors license for the District. In addition, he is supervising completion of the construction on the bond projects and will act as CRT for Earhart and the new K-8 school.
Leonard prepares Auto Cad drawings designs and drawings for school facilities including processing Kansas One Call Dig permits and updating utility, site and building drawings in addition to planning and coordinating construction contracts.
Martin provides estimates, planning and coordination of electrical projects in addition to maintaining the master electrical certificate for the District.
Rick designs, plans, estimates and coordinates construction contracts for Capital projects in addition to preparation of AutoCAD drawings and updates for school facilities.
Pat provides all secretarial, bookkeeping and record keeping services for the construction of the New K-8 and Earhart schools in addition to providing general clerical support for the entire department.
Penny provides secretarial services for the entire department including preparation of contract documents, correspondence and payments.
Steve provides estimates, planning and coordination on major remodel projects in addition to carpeting, floor tile, millwork and fabrics projects.
Teresa receives customer requests and processes the requests for work orders along with monitoring progress and data for Capital jobs.
Val provides estimates, planning and coordination of mechanical projects included HVAC and plumbing in addition to maintaining the master mechanical certificate for the District.
