Indoor Air Quality
Environmental Services provides indoor air quality services district wide. There are four Council-certified Indoor Environmentalist on staff with many years of experience in the indoor air quality field.
2007 Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Model of Substained Excellence Award
Environmetnal Services is once again proud to announce the the Wichita Public Schools was awarded the EPA's Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Model of Substained Excellence for its continued commitment towards improving indoor air quality in the district. Our staff is very proud to be nationally recognized for its efforts.
2005 Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Excellence Award
Environmental Services is proud to announce that the Wichita Public Schools was
awarded the EPA's Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools Excellence Award for its
efforts to improve indoor air quality in the district. Wichita was one of six schools
in the country awarded this prestigious accolade. Environmental Services is proud
of its efforts toward improving the Wichita Public Schools indoor air quality and we
are honored the EPA has taken notice of our program and the efforts of our staff.
Tools For Schools
All buildings should have received their "Indoor Air Quality Tools for Schools" kit by now. This kit contains information that can help improve your schools indoor air quality and in turn give students a comfortable atmosphere for learning. It includes a coordinators guide, indoor air quality handouts, checklists, informative videos and more. There is even a special section on asthma.
Reasons to Implement Tools for Schools
- Good indoor air quality contributes to a favorable learning environment.
- Better productivity for teachers and staff.
- Help lower risk factors for asthmatics and allergy suffers.
- The EPA and its Science Advisory Board rank indoor air pollutions in the top five environmental risks to public health.
