| AmeriCorps GRASP members provide direct service to twelve Title 1 schools by tutoring and mentoring students. Members also serve the community by participating in National days of service and local community service projects. The program also offers an opportunity for members to become highly qualified Paraprofessionals and encourages them to continue their education to become teachers. |
2009 - 2010 AmeriCorps GRASP
AmeriCorps GRASP is currently serving at the following Title 1 schools:
Adams Elementary, Clark Elementary, Curtis Middle School, Enterpise Elementary, Gordan Parks Academy, Hamilton Middle School, Harry St. Elementary, Horace Mann Dual Language Magnet,
Jackson Elementary, Jardine Middle School, Stanely Elementary, Woodman Elementary
AmeriCorps GRASP received ARRA funding to implement a Family Literacy Program.
The program is in partnership with Mulitlingual Education Services. Members will be serving at:
Cloud Elementary, Colvin Elementary, Griffith Elementary, Irving Elementary, Park Elementary and Washington Elementary.
AmeriCorps GRASP is a Corporation for National Service program administered by the Wichita Public Schools for the
Kansas Volunteer Commission.
