A District of Choices to Meet All Student Needs
The Wichita Public Schools serves more than 49,000 students in 94 school facilities and numerous additional educational programs. The district has a proven track record of successfully serving its richly diverse student population. Consistently increasing student achievement--in fact, 11 consecutive years of student growth--makes the Wichita Public Schools a vital and dynamic asset in the Wichita community.
In addition to a rich tradition of neighborhood schools serving students at the elementary (PreK-5), middle (6-8) and high school (9-12) levels, Wichita also has two K-8 schools, offers numerous special programs to meet student needs. The districts schools of choice, a network of 26 magnet schools at all grade levels, enhance the options available for parents and students.
Most schools also have their own school Web site, in addition to the informational profile pages listed here. These individual sites will be listed in the right-hand column of the profile page, under the Related Links section, along with the school's Board of Education site and the State Department of Education's School Report Card.
