Mission
Gordon Parks Academy will cultivate self-directed learners by providing multiple learning opportunities and rigorous assessments across disciplines in partnership with our parents and community. We will nurture and develop students who have an intercultural understanding and respect for others.
Vision: Gordon Parks Academy will be a positive student-centered learning environment which holds all students to high expectations of respect, international mindedness, and student achievement.
Beliefs:
- Providing students the opportunity to work with a diverse population provides them with a sense of community, a global understanding and acceptance of others that will make them a positive, contributing member of society.
- We believe that all students will be active participants in their learning by developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- We believe that when students' natural curiosity and questioning are encouraged, students develop a deeper understanding of concepts.
- When connections between parents, students, staff and community are made, bonds are formed that enrich and support the learning experience.
