2008-2009 calendar approved
The Board of Education approved the 2008-2009 school calendar during its February 25 meeting. The first day of school for all students is August 14, with orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade on August 13. Enrollment will start on July 28.
Some key dates on the calendar include:
- Enrollment: July 28 - August 1
- Orientation for new teachers August 4 – 6
- Inservice for all teachers: August 7 – 13
- Orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade students: August 13
- First day of school: August 14
- Fall recess: November 27 – 28
- Winter recess: schools not in session December 19 – January 2; winter break for teachers December 22 – January 2, administrative offices closed December 24 – 26
- Spring recess: March 16 – 20
- Last day of school: May 28
