Superintendent John Allison begins work with the Wichita Public Schools on July 6
Superintendent John Allison will begin his first day with the Wichita Public Schools on Monday, July 6, 2009. Mr. Allison will spend much of his first few months as superintendent getting to know the district, meeting with employees, touring schools and facilities, and meeting with community and business groups.
During his first day, Mr. Allison will spend the afternoon touring College Hill Elementary and Linwood Elementary. He will meet students who are in the summer latchkey programs at those two schools and take a tour of the schools led by school staff.
Mr. Allison’s general goals within his first 100 days are to learn about the history, the culture and the desires of the Wichita Public Schools, its employees, its customers and other constituents. He wants to establish working relationships with many within the school district and the Wichita community.
