Allen Elementary named the Best Place to Work
Four others recognized as finalists
Allen Elementary was named the Best Place to Work in the school division for 2009. The Best Places to Work is a competition sponsored by the Wichita Business Journal. The winners were announced at a banquet on March 12 at the Hyatt Regency.
Allen staff said the best part of their job was to go to work every day in a place where they enjoy their work, enjoy each other and cherish their students.
“We are one of the best places to work because of our people,” said principal Molly Nespor. “We are connected by trust, respect and good relationships. Our staff is very flexible and creative. You can ask anyone to do a favor for you and you never hear the word, ‘No’."
Other finalists who were honored included Black Traditional Magnet, Cessna Elementary, Hyde International Studies and Communications Magnet and Irving Elementary.
Cessna Elementary won the Best Place to Work honor in 2008.
The recipients were selected from nominations submitted by staff and employee surveys and interviews.
