2009-2010 calendar approved
The Board of Education approved the 2009-2010 school calendar during its February 23 meeting. The first day of school for all students is August 17, with orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade on August 14. Enrollment will start on July 29.

Some key dates on the calendar include:

• Enrollment: July 29 – August 4
• Orientation for new teachers: August 5 – 7    
• Inservice for all teachers: August 10 – 14  
• Orientation for sixth- and ninth-grade students: August 14
• First day of school: August 17
• Fall recess: November 26 – 27  
• Winter recess: schools not in session December 21 – January 1; winter break for teachers December 23 – January 1; administrative offices closed December 24 – 25 and December 31 – January 1.
• Spring recess: March 15 – 19  
• Last day of school: May 26
