Students at Dodge Literacy Magnet exceeded its goal of collecting food for the Kansas Food Bank. Third-grade students sponsored a Super Kids Day Food Drive on May 18. The students made a presentation to the school about the Kansas Food Bank and asked for donations. The third-grade students challenged the rest of the school that if they reached their goal of 500 pounds of food, teachers would be sprayed with silly string.
The students sorted the food items and used their math skills to tally how many pounds were donated. The school collected 1,372 pounds of food. Two students from each class were selected to spray their teachers with silly string.
