The Board of Education voted unanimously on two finalists for Superintendent on February 27:
· John Allison, currently superintendent of schools for the Mt. Lebanon School District in Pennslvania
· Denise Wren, currently assistant superintendent of high schools for the Wichita Public Schools
More than 500 employees, students, and community members came to listen to John Allison and Denise Wren, candidates for superintendent, on February 28. The Board of Education announced it will consider all the feedback it received to help select the next superintendent. The BOE will meet Monday, March 2 at 5 p.m. in North High School’s lecture hall to continue the discussion.
In November, more than 200 employees, community members, business leaders, students and parents participated in different focus groups to share what they want in the next superintendent. Dr. Al Hanna from the search firm Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates, Ltd. presented some of the common themes from those focus groups to the BOE on Nov. 24.
