Employee Assistance Program FAQ's
What is an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?
The EAP’s purpose is to assess and investigate an individual’s problems and, if necessary, provide a referral to appropriate resources. It is not designed as a treatment center for mental health issues. EA professionals are highly qualified to perform assessments and make determinations on the best course of action to either assist employees or refer them to more specialized types of help.
If your employee is looking for effective interviewing, motivational counseling, and skills in helping develop a plan for improvement, the EAP is an excellent place to go.
Who is our EAP Provider?
Employee Assistance Consultants (EMPAC) is a not-for-profit Employee Assistance Program. EMPAC is governed by a Consortium, which consists of numerous companies of varying sizes, serving thousands of employees and their families nationwide. A 12-member Board of Directors, elected each year from participating companies, governs the Consortium. It employs a Director who functions as Chief Executive Officer, manages the staff and implements board-approved programs and budgets.
