Voluntary Retirement programs for USD 259 Employees
USD 259 employees have the opportunity to set up contributions to their personal investment programs through payroll deductions. The district has two programs that employees may participate in. The employee must contact the plan representatives for the 457 plan, or contact your personal investment counselor for the 403(b) plans, to determine your best choice for a voluntary retirement plan. _____________________________________________________________________________________
457 Deferred Compensation program through the Hartford Company The district entered into an agreement with The Hartford to manage and direct our 457 program. The investment counselors who can help you with this program are Kent Taylor and Amy VanWinkle. They may be contacted at 210-5049.

403(b) Tax Sheltered Annuity Plans Employees interested in contributing to a 403(b) plan through payroll deduction must choose a company on this Approved 403(b) Vendor List. Talk to your investment counselor about these companies and how to set up a contribution via payroll deduction.

NEW 403(b) PLAN ADMINISTRATOR - effective 9/1/2009
Effective 9/1/2009 CPI Qualified Plan Consultants in Great Bend, KS will handle compliance issues regarding all 403(b) plans available for district employees. This will include processing loans, hardship requests, distributions and contract exchanges. Contact CPI at 1-877-488-4040 for assistance with these requests. January 2009 - IRS regulations changes for 403(b) plans
January 1, 2009 IRS regulations will change in regard to the handling of employer-offered 403(b) plans. The district has a new 403(b) plan administrator to take care of these new requirements. Be sure to talk to your investment counselor if you have questions about these changes and how they affect your retirement plans.
**** This change is for the 403(b) plans only. The 457 program will continue as is.
