1890s Classroom
- Slate chalkboards have replaced wooden blackboards or stretched canvas.
- Single desks have replaced the original double desks.
- Piano (not original) belonged to Miss Jessie Clark, the first music supervisor in WPS.
- The control for the furnace is mounted in the chalkboard at the front of the room. The original coal-fired furnace was located downstairs and worked by convection: the air was warmed in the basement and entered the room by way of the louvers at the front of the room; as the air cooled it was returned to the furnace by way of the registers seen under the windows and at the front of the room, where it was reheated and began the process again.
- The clock is a 3-day key-wound clock. Key holes are between seven and eight, and four and five. The clock strikes the number of hours on the hour, and once on the half-hour.
- The flag pledge, published in 1892, is written on the board.
- The States are listed on the board along with the year they were admitted to the union.

Administrator's Office
- Windows to the ouside and to the inside can be opened. This was to facilitate the flow of air through the building, and to permit the observance of students. The office looked out over the only entrance.
