John Allison
Superintendent of Schools

John Allison has served as Superintendent of the Wichita Public Schools since July 2009. Before coming to Wichita, Mr. Allison served as Superintendent of the Mt. Lebanon (PA) School District, and Deputy Superintendent of the Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District, located in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. He also served in the Shawnee Mission (KS) School District for much of his career, where he held several administrative positions including Associate Superintendent for Education Services. He began his career as a high school Social Studies teacher. Mr. Allison received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science from Emporia State University. He has completed doctoral course work in Education Leadership at St. Louis University.
