2009 Board of Education Election Information
Election dates have been scheduled as follows: Primary Election: Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m. General Election: Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Polls open from 6 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The following candidates are registered for positions on the Board of Education of USD 259. Because no BOE District had more than three (3) candidates, all candidates listed below will advance to the General Election on Tuesday, April 7, 2009.

The Board members from Districts 1, 2, 5, and 6 will be elected for a four-year term commencing July 1, 2009 and expiring June 30, 2013.

The deadline for filing for elected office was Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at noon. Candidates were required to file in person at the Sedgwick County Election Office, 510 N. Main, Suite 101, in downtown Wichita. For more information, please contact the Election Office staff at 660-7100 or visit the Election Web site at www.sedgwickcounty.org/elections.
Voting Plan for USD 259: The voting plan adopted by a majority of the electors at the regular election held November 8, 1994, is Voting Plan B, K.S.A. 72-8003(b): "All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the member district, may vote in the primary election for the member positions of such member district and for the at-large member position. All electors, who are otherwise qualified according to law, and who reside in the school district may vote in the general election for all member positions, including the at-large member position to be filled."
