The Media Production Services staff can help you design, produce and create DVDs of your instructional or promotional school videos. Your program could even air on our district's cable TV channel!
From individualized classroom projects, to district-wide staff development sessions, to community-wide promotional and informational programs, our award-winning staff can help you put your school or classroom project in the spotlight!
Media Production Services offers remote video production in our schools and district buildings. We operate a multi-camera television studio for the use of Wichita Public Schools students and staff, located at the School Service Center, 3850 N. Hydraulic. Through a partnership with Cox Communications, Media Production Services operates Schoolhouse 20 - cable channel 20 in Wichita. Our channel is available to every Wichita Public School and to every Cox Cable TV subscriber in Wichita.
Television production provides a great avenue for student learning. Young people who develop their own TV programs learn to use communication skills, reading, writing, public speaking, teaming, and higher order thinking skills. Students utilize technical and computer applications during the production of their program and learn to work cooperatively with one another. From elementary through high school, we've shown hundreds of students what skills are needed for a career in the communications and broadcast media fields.
We offer on-site training in planning and producing video projects. Computer graphics support, a copyright-free music and sound effects library, and loaner equipment checkout are also available through Media Production Services.
