Glass/Locks/Doors
We are a department with eleven employees that has the primary responsibility for keeping our buildings secure and weather tight. Our primary responsibilities are replacing broken glass; repairing and replacing doors, frames and hardware--both interior and exterior; and all keys and locks issues. We are also responsible for maintaining all fire extinguishers located in many areas throughout district-owned buildings.
Because our district is so large, we stay very busy. For example, here is a sampling of the maintenance and support we provided during the 2005-06 school year:
- Processes over 3,000 key requests each year.
- Maintain and occasionally replace a minimum of 8,000 exterior doors.
- Service and maintain over 4,000 fire extinguishers.
- Completed over 3,200 work requests in the 2005/2006 school year.
