- 38% Caucasian, 24% Hispanic, 20% African-American, 10% Multi-Racial, 5% Asian and 3% Native American
- Educating approximately 11 percent of all public school students in the State of Kansas, and more than half of all school-aged children in Sedgwick County.
- 56 elementary schools, 16 middle schools, 2 K-8 schools, 11 high schools, 16 other special programs

- Fourth largest employer in the Wichita MSA.
- Approximately 4,000 teachers, 3,000 classified/support staff, and 240 administrators, which include principals.
